How to Buy $HOPE Pre-sale

An Easy Step by Step Guide

HOW A PRE-SALE WORKS

Purchasing on Unicrypt involves swapping ethereum or USDC for $HOPE. There will be no transaction fee. $HOPE can be sold/traded/swapped for Ethereum once the coin goes live on Uniswap and Matic on Quickswap. This will occur once our Hardcap of 90 Ethereum  and 150,000 USDC is reached or at the end of the pre-sale September 12, as long as the 35 Eth and 50,000 USDC soft cap is reached. If the soft cap is not reach your ethereum and USDC will be returned to your wallet.

HOW TO BUY $HOPE

$HOPE is not listed on the most popular crypto exchanges yet. Unlike other main cryptocurrencies, it cannot be directly purchased with fiat money. We understand this is more complex than simply purchasing coins like Ethereum on a centralized exchange like Coinbase, which is why we created this step by step guide to buy $HOPE!

Step 1: Register on Coinbase

You will have to first buy Ethereum (ETH) or USDC on a major exchange. We will use Coinbase here as it is one of the largest crypto exchanges, but exchanges like Binance, Gemini, and Blockfolio also work.

Type your email and click ‘Get started’. Make sure you provide your real name as Coinbase will need it for account verification. Choose a strong password so that your account isn’t vulnerable to hackers.

You will receive a confirmation email. Open it and click on the link within. You will then be required to provide a valid mobile number to set up two-factor authentication (2FA). It is an extra layer to the security of your account and it is highly recommended that you keep this feature turned on.

Follow the next step to finish your identity verification. These steps are a bit daunting especially when you are waiting to buy an asset but just like any other financial institutions, Coinbase is regulated in most countries such as the US, the UK and the EU. You can take this as a trade-off to using a trusted platform to make your first crypto purchase. Good news is that the whole so-called Know-Your-Customers (KYC) process is now fully automated and it shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes to finish.

Step 2: Buy coins with fiat money

Once you finish the KYC process you will be asked to add a payment method. Here you can either choose to provide a credit/debit card or use a bank transfer. You will be charged higher fees when using cards but you will also make an instant purchase. While a bank transfer will be cheaper but slower, depending on the country of your residence, some countries will offer instant cash deposits with low fees, such as iDeal in some European countries.

Now you are all set, click the ‘Trade’ button at the top left, choose the amount of ethereum you want to purchase and congrats! You’ve just made your first crypto purchase.

Step 3: Set up Metamask Wallet for Altcoin Exchanges

A non-custodial wallet, like Coinbase Wallet or MetaMask, puts you in complete control of your crypto. Non-custodial wallets don’t rely on a third party — or a “custodian” — to keep your crypto safe. While they provide the software necessary to store your crypto, the responsibility of remembering and safeguarding your password falls entirely on you. If you lose or forget your password — often referred to as a “private key” or “seed phrase” — there’s no way to access your crypto. And if someone else discovers your private key, they’ll get full access to your assets.

Why have a non-custodial wallet? In addition to being in full control of the security of your crypto, you can also access more advanced crypto activities like yield farming, staking, lending, borrowing, and more. But if all you want to do is buy, sell, send, and receive crypto, a hosted wallet is the easiest solution.

Below we will describe how to set up a Metamask wallet.

Installing Metamask

Step 1. Go to the Metamask website.

Step 2. Click “Get Chrome Extension” to install Metamask.

Step 3. Click “Add to Chrome” in the upper right.

Step 4. Click “Add Extension” to complete the installation.

You will know Metamask has been installed when you see the fox logo on the upper right hand corner of your browser.

Using Metamask

One of the first tasks you will want to do on Metamask is to install a wallet (or “vault” as Metamask calls it) to hold your cryptocurrencies. To do this, follow the instructions below.

Step 1. Click on the Metamask logo in the upper right hand corner of your Google chrome browser.

Step 2. Read and agree to the terms and conditions. You may have to agree to 2 to 3 pages worth of terms.

Step 3. Create your account. Unlike a hosted wallet, you don’t need to share any personal info to create a non-custodial wallet. Not even an email address. Enter a password and click “Create” to create your wallet.

Step 4. You will see a set of 12 “seed words” for your vault. Click “Save Seed Words as File” and copy the “MetaMask Seed Words” file that is downloaded to a safe place. You will need it to access your vault.  Be sure to write down your private key. It’s presented as a random 12-word phrase. Keep it in a secure location. If you lose or forget this 12-word phrase you won’t be able to access your crypto.

Step 5. Click “I’ve Copied It Somewhere Safe” once your seed words file has been secured. You’ll be taken into your Metamask wallet!

If you have any trouble, visit MetaMask Support.

Step 6. Now you are ready to transfer your ethereum from coinbase (or your other maor exchange) to your wallet.

BE CAREFUL HERE! SENDING YOUR ETHEREUM TO THE WRONG WALLET ADDRESS WILL RESULT IN YOU LOSING MONEY! TAKE YOUR TIME AND FOLLOW THE STEPS CAREFULLY.

Coinbase will let you know when your ETH or USDC is available to send out, which can take up to 2 days if you purchased it with a debit card or up to 15 days if you used a bank transfer. Once your ETH or USDC is ready, send it from Coinbase to your wallet by opening up the MetaMask browser extension. Click on “Account” to copy your Ethereum address. Your Ethereum wallet address—which is similar to a bank account number—will let you transfer and receive crypto from anyone, anywhere in the world.

From the Coinbase website: Now head back to www.coinbase.com, select “Portfolio,” and find “Ethereum” or “UDSC.”  Click “Send,” and paste in your Metamask Ethereum wallet address from MetaMask in the “To” field. Double-check that you pasted in the full 42-character wallet address, if you send crypto to the wrong address you will not be able to get it back. Click “Continue,” then “Confirm” to send your ETH, it should take a few minutes to transfer.

From the Coinbase app: Open the mobile app, and click on “Portfolio.” Find “Ethereum or USDC,” and select “ETH or USDC Wallet.” You should see your balance here. To send ETH or USDC to your wallet on MetaMask, click on the send icon in the top right. Enter the amount of ETH or USDC you want to send and click “Continue.” In the “To” field, paste in your Metamask Ethereum wallet address. Click “Preview” to confirm the amount and once you’re ready, hit “Send Now.” Wait a few minutes for the ETH to arrive in your wallet.
